I lost my wallet about 3 weeks ago. I immediately called the Douglas Co Motor
Vehicle Dept to find out the steps I needed to take. The person answering the
phone said I would need my birth certificate and another ID of some kind. I
did not have the old license as it was in the lost wallet. I cannot remember
why but I called back again, and the person I spoke to this time, said it all
depended on the particular DVM location. I went to the bank vault to get my
birth certificate and also got my passport. I had not thought about the
passport, but thought that was a no brainer, the passport being a very valid
form of ID. I took the two items to the DVM in Arapahoe Co near Co Line and
Broadway in Centennial. The clerk was incredibly courteous, she told me I did
not need the birth certificate and did not even look at it. The passport was
enough of an I.D. So I guess as the one clerk said on the phone, it just
