There is any rivalry between people from Istanbul and people from Ankara?
I’ve read on an article from a newspaper that people from Istanbul look downs on Ankara because the think that is less beautiful and very boring, and people from Ankara look downs on Istanbul because they think it’s old and overestimated.
True or false? What do you think about both cities?
I don’t know Ankara, and I’d like to visit someday.
Nevertheless, I think that is common in every country, region or province a little rivalry between the main cities, and most time, the rivalry it’s not with bad intentions.
I agree with @totally blunt.
They are in differnt paths. First of all Ankara is capital city. So there are so many state associations and also civil servants which means the people earning average salary and average educated.
On the contrary Istanbul is thought of a commercial city and everybody immigrates there to earn money.. But many of them cannot who refuses to return their villages. This causes a human pollution, crowd, thefts, mafia forming, crimes…. Ankara is more safe. Also the traffic is less problemed.
In the other hand Istanbul has a bewitching viev and nature.. Especially Bosphorus.
All Istanbul borned citisens says that they could’t live in a place except Istanbul. Because they got used to take a tour by the sea, when they get bored or suffered. They talk to the sea and sea gulls. Sometimes these make them forget all suffers..
You may bump into a famous person in Taksim/ist commonly.
But all the president, p. minister, senators, generals live in Ankara. This is a privilege.

Broadway, My Way
$9.06
The people who felt betrayed when Linda Eder covered several pop songs on 2002’s Gold will be relieved that her follow-up, Broadway My Way, is a return to the Great White Way. As if to prove that she isn’t limited to either the songs of Frank Wildhorn or ballads, Eder tackles some well-known show tunes.
